LABORATORY MINERALIZERS
The mineralizers are especially intended for the mineralization
of samples of organic origin by wet method (Kjeldahl
method). However, they are equally useful for other laboratory tests
in tubes having an outer diameter of 40...42 mm
at temperatures up to 440 °C. They are not intended for
tests involving the use of flammable or explosive
substances or substances from which they may be released!
The equipment we offer you is designed as portable, with a separate control unit due to the external influences to which it is exposed. It therefore consists of two units interconnected by electric lines. This separate concept is the advantage of our solution, chosen on the basis of demanding tests in real operation, which you will especially appreciate in case of damage to the heating block by long-term exposure to chemicals. Just repair or replace, only the heating block. The exact temperature setting and its very good distribution in the heating block allows the mineralization process to be reproduced.
The heating block itself is placed in the workplace, where an intensive exhaust of fumes generated during the mineralization is ensured, ie preferably in a high-quality hood. However, condensate must not be dripped from the ceiling or fume hood. The heating block can be built on a support with a fire classification A1 (masses that do not contribute to the spread of fire at any stage - eg stone, concrete, bricks, ceramics, metals, glass, etc.), A2 (not significantly contributing to the caloric load or further growth fire - eg cement-cement boards, gypsum boards etc.) and B (materials resistant to heat flow for a long time - eg beech wood, oak wood, plywood, etc.). The smallest distance from the combustible materials in the horizontal direction is set at 100 mm. The control unit can stand in a place suitable for the operator, where it will not be exposed to high humidity and corrosive or polluting substances. The length of the connecting lines is min. 5 m.
The heating block is designed as a prism with holes for
inserting test tubes with an outer diameter
of 40...42 mm. The new-series heating blocks have
a special hole pattern that allows the tubes to move even more
easily when thermal expansion of materials. Thermal insulation is
also significantly improved. The MB332 series is designed for
up to 9 tubes, and the MB442 series is designed for
up to 16 tubes and up to 20 tubes per
MB452 series. (We can, however, produce a heating block for your
defined number of tubes.) The surface is powder coated to
resist not only the operating temperatures but also
the external effects on the heating block. (On request, we
supply a stainless steel heating block housing.)
The separate control unit consists mainly of an electronic digital two-position temperature controller operating with PID transmission. The basic type of controller allows regulation to a constant value with a defined increase in the controlled variable. The desired temperature of the heating block is set on it. A signal from the heating block temperature sensor is supplied to the control unit via a compensation line, and a voltage for heating elements is supplied to the heating block. The heating power is controlled by the PWM system with fully electronic switching. If your laboratory process requires program control, we will be happy to supply you with a control unit fitted with one of the programmable controllers. Do you need to archive data on your computer or control a mineralizer with a superior system? We will offer you a controller equipped with a data bus with parameters according to your requirement. All controllers used are high quality and reliable temperature control devices. The 3 m cable connects the control unit to a 230 V AC 50 Hz mains outlet.
